Deleting or removing a class or course will impact student data! Caution should be taken to delete or remove only the items that have no student activity. The safer alternative to deleting or removing is to set the class inactive or hide the course. All student data is stored at the course level, so any deletions will result in a full loss of past student activity.
If you are an Administrator, any action to remove or delete a class or course happens immediately and is irreversible. Pearson can only recover deleted classes or courses within the first 5 days, so it is important to contact us as soon as possible.
If you have done this in error, contact Pearson Support as quickly as possible with the following information:
- Username
- Password
- Class or course name
- Date and time deleted
- Where the deletion happened - from the school level or in a class
- Impact of data loss, such as:
- How many students were enrolled?
- Do they have anything else to work on?
- When does your semester end?
Pearson tries to complete any recovery requests as soon as possible, but we do take time to validate the recovery before adding back into the school, so the process takes several days. Depending on existing work it can take at least one school day to get the data fully recovered, so understanding impact and urgency will help expedite the process.
